On second thought...

Maybe I'll just stay pregnant. Just Kidding!!! Not that I really have anything to complain about, because I have truly been blessed with a wonderful pregnancy, but I can't describe the feeling I have for wanting to meet this little life inside me. I'll keep this post short and sweet, because I am sure you will be hearing from me again. And I suppose I will go to work today, no reason to stay home and wait, there is nothing left to do. :)

A figment of imagination

This is just a figment of your imagination that you are seeing this post. Oh, I really wish it was. I am still hanging in there. In fact I had to have a talk with this little man, because it was a chilly 54 degrees here this morning and this pregnant lady does not have warm maternity clothes. So he has got to definitely come soon if this cool weather intends on sticking around. I have to hand it to him though, he's pretty smart for staying in there where he is nice an toasty all the time. Chilly or not Isaac and I were up bright and early and decided to walk to a gas station near our home to get the Sunday paper, and yes because I have nothing better to do, I map quested it out for your knowledge and mine, we walked a distance of 1.27 miles, a few contractions and that's it. NOTHING!! Well the day is still young, so hopefully something soon.

It can't be much longer.......Right??

Bet you didn't expect to hear from me today, Did you?? If it makes you feel any better, I was hoping you wouldn't either. So I have been up since 6:00am cleaning (I truly thought there was nothing left to clean, but I was determined to find something to do). And I did....I washed the "two" loads of laundry I had, and they were small... I made my own separation of colors, to make more than one load just to take up more time..LOL!!! I washed all the rugs in the house. I even washed the dogs bed for crying out loud. Then re-swept and mopped the floors, they didn't need it but it gave me something to do. Scrubbed spots out of the carpets, spots that only the eye of a 40week along, overdue pregnant women that can't sleep could find. Thank goodness Isaac came home and rescued me. I think my next step could have been washing all of our clean clothes.

With bags packed and ready to go, we are anxiously awaiting your arrival little boy!!
Please make your appearance soon.

Will today be the day?

It is officially D-Day!! Yep, we made it to the doctors expected due date. I thought for sure I wouldn't be sitting here making this post this morning after waking up around 3 am with some pretty intense contractions and back pain.
That lasted for about an hour then slowed and continued through the early morning, and I am still having them, but nothing close enough together to make a trip to Labor and Delivery. (seriously) So for now I am off to work, hoping that today will be the day and very much ready for my baby to be here.

Still Here!!

Yep, still here! Still pregnant, still! Yesterday came and gone, Isaac didn't get his baby on the 3rd as he had hoped. But he reassured me that he was okay, because if he has waited this long he supposed he could wait another day or two, but anything longer than that, I was going to need to pick up the speed. LOL!! But at any rate there is time yet this evening for something to take place, not sure if there is time for an arrival, so we will just hope for the best!

Belly Pic, OB Visit and Nursery Pictures

Well, I am still pregnant, as of right now that is. I had a doctors appointment this afternoon and it was suppose to be my last appt, but we will see. They made me go ahead and schedule an appointment for next week just in case. But after seeing Midwife Katie today she thinks I won't make it through the end of the weekend, in fact she is thinking it could really be just any moment. I am still dilated about the same maybe a little closer to 2cm, but I am almost 80% effaced and the baby's head is now at -1 station. She was very happy with how thinned and soft my cervix was. But she made sure not to tamper too much, because below the baby's head is a bulging sac of amniotic fluid that she seem to think good give way at any time, she was sure if she applied any pressure it would break. Ahhhh!!!! Oh lord, I just hope that my water doesn't break in public. That would be super embarrassing. But I am going to try to get a walk in tonight, I really am so we will see if that helps anything progress.

I took this picture this morning.
I am going to try to take a picture every morning that I am still pregnant, Hopefully I won't need to take to many more of these.
November 3, 2010

I also went ahead and took a few pictures of the nursery. I wouldn't say that it is 100% complete but it is close enough for a partial reveal. There are just a few more things that I would like to get done, but if baby comes I am not sure that I will get around to it and what is done so far will just have to do :)
I am not quite ready to share the whole room with you yet, so you are getting just a peek.

The mobile is one item that isn't completely finished, I tend to think that the (medium size) lighter blue/teal fish need to be red. I think that they would match the bedding a little better, but Isaac likes it how it is. I found these wooden fish at Bealls Outlet, I got an embroidery hoop and hung them from it. I am pretty sure that I would also like to paint the embroidery hoop or wrap it in a fabric. We'll see.
I got wooden letters from Jo-Ann Fabric for the baby's name, the best part, they were 1/2 off :)
I painted them blue and put nautical rope on the edges of the letters. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

Love this plaid fabric that I also found at Jo-Ann's and pretty much stole for a great price. Isaac's Mom made the cover for the seat cushion and made the window treatments.

We also got this fabric for a great price and Isaac's mom recovered the cushions for the glider. This is a much better look than it was before the touch of new fabric :)

I found the following items for a great deal and couldn't resist getting them for the room.

Maybe you will be hearing from me again tomorrow. Isaac still has his hopes this baby is coming tonight. All I have to say is that if he is he only has 3 hours and 15 minutes to do so.. Guess I better get to walking..

Thirty Nine Week Belly Pic

Well! We still have a baby in the oven. He is just content as can be, he doesn't seem to be making any moves towards coming out. After all that scare early on, this little guy might just decide to stay in longer. Huh!!!! He will show us who's boss. :)
I had a doctors appt last Friday and everything is still looking good. His heart rate was a strong 144, he is still head down (Thank you, lord!) I was almost 2cm dilated, 60% effaced and the baby was at -2 station in the birth canal. Donna was thinking that he felt about 7.5lbs - 8lbs, I sure hope he is a bit smaller than that since he is still in there growing.
Isaac has really been hoping that he comes this Wednesday November 3rd which is exactly a month before his birthday. So when we were at the doctors office, he asked Midwife Donna if she would give her professional guess at when she thought we might have him, she was thinking I would go a few days past their given due date of November 5th. I'm sure he was hoping she would say November 3rd, and since that was not her response he said "Oh...No we will be having him on Wednesday."
She laughed, probably in disbelief. But anything is possible right.

So needless to say I am doing this post today just in case. And if he doesn't come maybe I will post again tomorrow :)

Thirty Nine Weeks
Last an final stage, Watermelon (big, big watermelon).
Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

We can't wait to see you little man. Hurry and come.

Love, Mommy and Daddy
Oh! And the Gunner Boy.

Thirty Eight Week Belly Pic

And just when you think there is NO possible way that you can get any bigger. You get proved wrong. :) Oh well! It is almost over and our little boy will be here in our arms.
Thirty Eight Weeks
In the final and last stage watermelon. (Or maybe two, he he)
Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.
Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Thirty Seven Week Belly Pic

Thirty Seven Weeks
Yeah!!! We are officially considered full term and in the final stage watermelon.
Baby is now considered "full term," even though due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Thirty Six Week Belly Pic

Everything is going great, baby is head down and ready for his arrival. My blood pressure has stayed really good, but I have started to experience some swelling, which is normal in this stage. His movements have slowed slightly but when he does move, boy do I feel it. I can tell that I have dropped due to the relief of being able to take a deep breath again. And I must look ready as ever, I can't seem to make an outing these days without getting eyes from all around and without any reservation someone will always stop me and say "You must be due any day now" I usually just smile and say "yep".

Thirty Six Weeks
Last Week in the Honeydew stage.

Baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely he's in a head-down position. But if he isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying he'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating him from the outside of your belly.

Thirty Five Week Belly Pic

Thirty Five Weeks
Still in the Honeydew stage.
Baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds. Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Shower

We had our Co-Ed shower a few weekends ago. I realized after that Isaac and I didn't get a picture together. A special Thank You to my Mom for all the hard work that you did. And Thank You to my Sister and my Aunt for helping so much with the shower.

My Aunt made this adorable Daddy's Toolbelt for Isaac, it was equiped with all the necessary tools a Dad would need in changing a diaper, there were many laughs shared over this gift.
Not sure if you can see in this picture, but there were vases filled with sock and towel bouqets. They were so cute. And the socks and towels were ours to keep :)
They even managed to match our cake to the invitation that was sent out for the shower. And the cake was so yummy, Vanilla cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream icing, probably my favorite cake ever.

And Thank You to everyone who came and for all the wonderful gifts that we received. Now it's down to the wire with getting everything ready for the little man.

Thirty Four Week Belly Pic

I can't believe that we are down to a month. Crazy to think that in just a few short weeks I will be holding my baby in my arms. Sleeping is getting more and more difficult and just your general walking, sitting, standing..All uncomfortable. We are getting so excited to meet the new addition to our family. And in this last little stretch I think he is ready to meet us too.. He has been moving like crazy, maybe it's a notion of, hey Mom I'm gettin a little cramped in here, somethin you can do about that. :)
We will all have relief very soon.

Thirty Four Weeks
Still in the Honeydew stage.
His fat layers, which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Thirty Three Week Belly Pic

Thirty Three Weeks
We are now at the Honeydew Stage until 36 weeks.
The Baby is rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with aconehead like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.infancy and childhood.

Thirty Two Week Belly Pic

Well I seem to be managing taking the pictures but just can not seem to get them posted here. It really only takes a few minutes to do a post but I just can't seem to scrounge a few minutes up. :) It is definitely getting harder towards the end.. but I am hoping to have all my weekly pictures posted before delivery (Hope I am not setting my hopes to high there HA!!!).. and speaking of delivery....it is not that far away.. Yikes!! But we are praying and believing for a safe and natural delivery. And a Healthy baby boy :)
Thirty Two Weeks
This is the last week in the small pumpkin stage.
Baby weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

Thirty One Week Belly Pic

Thirty One Weeks
We are still in the small pumpkin stage.
This week, baby measures over 16 inches long. Weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Maternity Pictures

Maternity Photos!!

After a reschedule due to bad weather we got lucky with a sunny clear day to take the pictures. Chrissy from Vitalic Photo was a wonderful photographer and although it was sunny and clear, it was super windy out. She still managed to work around my ever blowing in the wind, hair and get some really great shots.
Isaac was pleased to discover that he really didn't need to be in many of the shots, which was a huge relief to him since he just loves taking pictures so much (facetiously speaking) and he found himself preoccupied in conversation with Chrissy's husband whom just so happen to have quite a bit in common with him.

I do follow Vitalic's blog, which you can find on the right hand side of the screen, or just click on the link I have provided above. You can see all the same pictures I have posted below, on her site, but in a much better quality.

I would like to Thank Chrissy for capturing this wonderful time in our life, I will forever cherish these pictures and can not wait for when our little guy gets here to work with her again.

Thirty Week Belly Pic

Our last Lamaze class was Monday night. It was nice being there in a way.. because you realize that of course your not in this alone, I don't mean that in a bad way either.
But I have to admit I really could have used maybe one more class just on breathing. I feel like I am not going to remember what they taught us. Our instructor did encourage us that for the most part it will come very naturally to you to just breath through the contractions. And I am sure that if we have difficulty remembering there will be a very nice nurse there to give us a refresher.
Thirty Weeks
Small pumpkin stage.
Baby’s development this week….A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light.

Twenty-Nine Week Belly Pic

Well this weeks appointment officially started my every two week visits to the Doctor. Everything seems to be going great. Little man is head down and ready to be here. We certainly are getting anxious and can't wait to have him, but I suppose another 11 weeks isn't going ti kill us. In fact as much as I am ready to be done with the constant hip pressure, I could use 11 more weeks to get things ready. I am feeling very un prepared right about now, but I do have time, so I am trying not to stress.

Twenty Nine Weeks
Small Pumkin Stage
(Which I have to laugh about becuase I look like I am smuggling a very large pumpkin under my shirt)

This week on the baby’s development…his muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Twenty-Eight Week Belly Pic

This week was our 4-D Ultrasound, which was so fun. Our parents and my sister got to come along and since our neice and nephew were in town they came too. I can't even put into words how amazing it was to see our little guy all snuggled up, frowning, smiling.. And he is just the cutest thing ever. I thought at first maybe it was just me, but the tech kept commenting on what chubby cheeks he had :) So Cute! And his lips are just adorable. I just can't wait to kiss those chubby cheeks and cute little lips.
Here are a few of my favorite.. there were so many to choose from but I really like these.

I love this one, it shows off his cute lips.

Look at that smile, I can't help but smile when I look at this picture.

And our little guy tucked his hand under his chin and was fast asleep.

Twenty Eight Weeks
Still in the Eggplant Stage
By this week, the baby can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
