Deja Vu....First Bath!!

Here we are again, The First Bath!!
I love how the comparison of pictures from Eli's first bath and Shalyn's first bath are so similar!!

Shalyn
But this wouldn't be complete without a picture of  Eli in there with us!

He was a very concerned Big Brother. When I placed Shalyn down in the tub, of course she wasn't too happy about it. and Eli started comforting her "It's otay Shalyn, you'll be otay" He said that to her several times all the while rubbing her head softly. He finally turned to me and in a very demanding voice said "She is too little for a bath Momma!!"

And here is my sweet girl, All cleaned and ready for bed!

Welcome Shalyn Paige!!

This was the last picture I took pregnant. I took this May 02, 2013. And little did I know that...

The next day I would be holding this beautiful baby girl in my arms!!
This picture is exactly why 10 months of pregnancy and several hours of painful labor are all worth it. When they laid that precious baby girl on my chest she reached out and held tight to my finger. Its that instant overwhelming feeling of unconditional Love that just makes it all okay!

And she already has that sad pouty lip down!! Watch out Daddy!!

I absolutely Love this picture! Eli was able to come in the room as soon as Shalyn arrived. I am so Thankful for this. I know he might not remember it when he gets older, but we have a great memory of this moment to share with them. He stood on a chair and watched them clean her and he asked questions and just kept telling the nurses over and over, "I'm gonna hug her, and I'm gonna kiss her, and then.... she's gonna cry"
It was priceless, but you could tell that he was just so proud!

Their room, a space for two.

Once we found out that we were having a Girl...my wheels were spinning. What was I going to do about the room. We had decided that we were going to do a shared room, because we only have three bedrooms and  we weren't quite ready to give up our space for guests just yet. And to be honest, before finding out that we were expecting a girl, I really had no ideas for a boy/girl room.

Eli's room had a Nautical feel to it so I decided to avoid changing to much, I would just play into that theme and go from there. It really all fell into place. The most challenging thing was finding bedding that wouldn't clash to much, so I decided to just make it myself, with some help from my Momma.

And Because he is so cute!!
