And for the big announcement that everyone has been waiting for... It.....is....a......

BOY!!!

I Love this picture, Our little guy is smiling.

Just a good profile shot of him.. isn't he so cute.

And this is the one that tells it all... There is no question that this little guy is a Boy!

Everything went great at the the ultrasound. The tech Marianna was very happy with all the measurements that she got and I received a call from my nurse Kim that said after the doctor reviewed the ultrasound pics and measurements, everything looked perfect. Thank You Lord for giving us a healthy Baby Boy! We are forever grateful and overwhelmed with joy!

Nineteen Weeks

The baby is the size of a mango.

The baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to him, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.  His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Eighteen Weeks

The Baby is the size of a sweet potato.

Head to rump, the baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a sweet potato) and weighs almost 7 ounces. Busy flexing its arms and legs. The blood vessels are visible through the thin skin, and ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from its head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around the nerves, a process that will continue for a year after birth. .

Can't wait to find out what this baby is...ready to stop refferring to the baby as "it".

Seventeen Weeks

The Baby is the size of a large onion.

The baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord, lifeline to the placenta is growing stronger and thicker. The baby weighs about 5 ounces now and is around 5 inches long from head to bottom. It can move joints, and the sweat glands are starting to develop.

I can deffinitley say that the little movements I am feeling are for certain the baby. It is so amazing. I feel so blessed to be given this little miracle. It is crazy to think that in three weeks I will be half way there. At times I do feel like this time is going by so slowly, but over all  it really has gone by very fast. I am just soaking up this time, because I do realize in 23 short weeks my whole world will change. Mostly, I am sure for the good, but I foresee many sleepless nights in my future :)

Sixteen Weeks

The baby is the size of an avocado.

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double its weight and add inches to its length. Right now, about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. Its legs are much more developed, and the head is more erect than it has been, eyes have moved closer to the front of its head. Ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of the scalp has begun. It has even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in the baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.

As expected not much news about our appointment, blood work and of coarse we did get to listen to the heart beat. She had a heck of timegetting the little bugger to stay still to bea able to count the beats per minute. She did finally get it 156 BPM. But we deffinitley got a little mover on our hands. We go back in three weeks on June 16th to find out the sex of the baby. I will certainly keep you updated.
