Twenty-Nine Week Belly Pic

Well this weeks appointment officially started my every two week visits to the Doctor. Everything seems to be going great. Little man is head down and ready to be here. We certainly are getting anxious and can't wait to have him, but I suppose another 11 weeks isn't going ti kill us. In fact as much as I am ready to be done with the constant hip pressure, I could use 11 more weeks to get things ready. I am feeling very un prepared right about now, but I do have time, so I am trying not to stress.

Twenty Nine Weeks
Small Pumkin Stage
(Which I have to laugh about becuase I look like I am smuggling a very large pumpkin under my shirt)

This week on the baby’s development…his muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Twenty-Eight Week Belly Pic

This week was our 4-D Ultrasound, which was so fun. Our parents and my sister got to come along and since our neice and nephew were in town they came too. I can't even put into words how amazing it was to see our little guy all snuggled up, frowning, smiling.. And he is just the cutest thing ever. I thought at first maybe it was just me, but the tech kept commenting on what chubby cheeks he had :) So Cute! And his lips are just adorable. I just can't wait to kiss those chubby cheeks and cute little lips.
Here are a few of my favorite.. there were so many to choose from but I really like these.

I love this one, it shows off his cute lips.

Look at that smile, I can't help but smile when I look at this picture.

And our little guy tucked his hand under his chin and was fast asleep.

Twenty Eight Weeks
Still in the Eggplant Stage
By this week, the baby can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Twenty-Seven Week Belly Pic

At this point you probably think I am beginning to just make excuses. There has just been so much going on and a loss in the family that we needed to go out of town for so this post I realize is terribly behind schedule, and this weeks post will be done hopefully before this weekend is over. Sorry so late.

Twenty Seven Weeks
Still in the Eggplant stage.
Developmentally this is where the baby should be for this weeks. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Twenty-Six Week Belly Pic

Yea!!! No hospital trips this week...for contractions anyways.. we did go to the hospital but that was for our first Lamaze class. And that was very interesting to say the least but the fun stuff doesn't actually start until our next class. Also this week was my doctors appt, and I had to do my sugar test. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But It wasn't great either. Hopefully I will pass and won't have to do it again. My next appointment will be the 18th of this month, and we will be having the 4-D ultrasound done, very very excited for this. Can't wait to see how much our little guy has grown since the last US.

Twenty-Six Weeks
Baby is still in the eggplant stage for size.

The network of nerves in baby's ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat.

Twenty-Five Week Belly Pic

Another post a week late.. Sorry.. I really don't mean it. But last week was again another crazy week. More contractions, another trip to the hospital on Thursday. This little guy is not wanting to stay put. I keep telling him he needs to be patient and just wait. But the contractions were more intense this time. Another shot of terbutaline, continue to drink my water and I have to take a prescription to keep labor away also very strict instructions to rest as much as possible, pretty much bed rest but not completely, I can work and do light duty around the house but I have to make sure that for the most part I am sitting and resting, laying down, etc. Which is very hard to do especially at home. Especially in this last little stretch here where there is so much to be done to finish up. But we will make it through and everythign will be just fine.

Twenty-Five Weeks
Baby is now as long as a large eggplant.
He is preparing for the outside world, his immune system gearing up and  he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Thats it for this the 25 week post, will be posting the 26 week picture soon :)
