Flowers in December

My neighbor approached me the other morning with a request to snap some photos of her flowers. This little old lady is so sweet and she spends the majority of her time doting over her flowers, planting, pruning, watering, maybe even talking to. Her garden, she tells me is her life, and I truely believe she lives for nothing more than to see a seed planted, grow and bloom. And in the end we both pleasure in her work, she loves for me to enjoy them, and I don't mind taking pictures of them.

God is amazing, isn't he.

Yet Again....Another...December Birthday.

I am very pleased to introduce to you for the very first time. Noah!

What a cutie, huh!!

This is me holding my new baby cousin.

But you tell me does he look like his big brother Jacob.

Above is Jacob. And below is Noah.

There are some similarities to me, but there was a 2 pound difference with these guys, so Jacob's face seems much fuller to me. One thing I know they are both adorible.

Christmas Review

Christmas here and gone as fast as it came. I am so sad to see it go. But the first turkey dinner at our home went great. Our guests included; of course Isaac and myself, my Mom and Dad, my Sister and her husband, my very dear friend and her family, and after dinner more friends arrived just in time for dessert, so needless to say we had a full house. Isaac has decided that our house is too small for that many people and that we should get a bigger one. We had so much fun though, crowded or not, and so much so that I didn't get much camera time in, which is a bit frustrating to me, but here are a few that I did get.

These three beautiful children above belong to my friend. They are just so precious and I just love them.

Each one of our guests received a personalized ornament as a Thank You for coming. And I would like to  Thank Katie because we each saw this on Kelly's blog but I wasn't sure that I could pull it off, but I received one from her as a gift and It helped me know I could do it. :)

The night ended with a nice hot cup of coffee.

Fun was had by all, I hope to do it again next year, and who knows, if my husband has his way it will be in a bigger house.

The gifts are all wrapped, the stockings stuffed. Christmas lights are glistening through ornaments on the tree. The table is set waiting the arrival of Christmas dinner guests. Christmas has arrived. Thank you sweet Jesus that you were so humble to come to earth, be born in a manger and live only to then give your life so that we could live. Thank You, Jesus, for today I hope and pray that many will celebrate the true reason for the season and that is you.

Merry Christmas From Our Home to Yours!

Today was my Mom's birthday. We met up with her and my Dad at Panera for breakfast. With her birthday being so close to Christmas, every year I always feel like her birthday doesn't get celebrated the way it should be. Her birthday should be declared a national day of celebration, because everyone should have a chance to celebrate what has made this world so much better just by here being in it. Happy Birthday Momma! I Love You!

Christmas Decor

Finally I can show you my Christmas decor...Sorry for such a delay on this post, my world has been a bit busy with finals for school and then when I have had a chance I am trying to get Christmas shopping done.

This is in my dining room, I just strung a piece of ribbon and pinned it to the wall and this is where I display all my Christmas cards.

This was a gift from my Sister a few years ago and he is on the wall in my entry way.

This snowman sits at the bottom of my fireplace.

These are just a few of my favorite ornaments, if you haven't already seen a pattern here, I really like snowman and snowflakes.

This adorable cookie jar is also on my dining room table filled with Chocolate-oatmeal-coconut Cookies. That combination is tasty.

This is December right??

We have been having some crazy weather the last few days here. It seems as if we should be smack dab in the middle of Hurricane season or something with all of this rain and not to mention flooding, but, oh no...it's December and this is how we experience a cold front coming to town. Very weird, I have to say, it hasn't rained this much in months. Check out these shots I found on our local news stations website of some results of the weather.

I will certainly be praying for the families that live in lower lying areas, and for thoses out and about in this nasty weather trying to finish there shopping. This is no fun at all, especially this close to Christmas. But I sure hope that after all this, the cold front decides to stick around until Christmas day.

The first turkey dinner at my house…YIKES!!

Since Isaac and I have been married we have just continued to follow the same holiday routine as before we were, making visits to our Families homes, Grandparent’s homes, and Friend’s homes. But this year for Christmas it has been decided that we will do Christmas dinner at our home. Isaac’s parents will be joining his sisters for Christmas this year and my parents do not currently have a kitchen due to they are remodeling there home. That being said, I am a little late this year getting my Christmas décor out so I’d better get started. Hopefully once I’m done I will share photos.

Big Changes for a Good Cause

Recently I decided to make a big change for myself, one I wasn’t sure if I would like but I new that it wouldn’t really matter because it was for such a good cause. I have always worn my hair very long and from time to time when I would go get my hair trimmed I would really step out on a limb and get three to four inches off instead of one or two (woohoo), and honestly the last time I had my hair cut was maybe, March, so long ago I can’t really remember. But, I had decided sometime after my last trim, that I wanted to let it grow, to just see how long I would be able to stand it. My hair grows rather quickly and it was starting to get pretty long and I contemplated having it cut to have it donated (just a thought). But my selfish pride took over and I began to war with myself over the matter, I could never get my hair cut short, so I will just continue to let it grow until next year and cut it before summer, by then I’m sure it will be long enough that the cut won’t be so drastic.

Well something in life always comes along maybe not to make us feel bad but to show us that there is more to life than long hair, or other simple things that we find ourselves so complacent in. I was introduced recently to a Mothers journal of her little girl and her struggle with cancer. Children have the most humble spirit and I began to question and wonder, Why? Why children, they are so innocent and they deserve so much more. That little girl did go to be with the Lord a few weeks ago, but not before changing so many lives here on earth including mine. I think that God has showed me that the humbleness that a child reflects is what we should all desire to have. I started thinking about the things that are so minuet compared to situations like the one mentioned above and realized that if something as simple as cutting my hair could help a child somewhere dealing with what I could never imagine going through myself, then I should Gladly cut my hair even if it means I may not like it, the truth is that it is hair, and it will grow back. Some little girl or boy somewhere may not get the chance for theirs to grow back and if I can make a difference for them in the mean time, I would love to. So I did! I am glad that I didn’t let my selfishness stand in my way. In fact it came out better than I thought. See for yourself, before and after pictures below.

Another Birthday in Our House

Yesterday was my Hubby's birthday. I won't reveal his age but lets just say he's not so thrilled about the next birthday coming. Unfortunatley he had to work on his birthday, which most people have to work their birthday unless it falls on a weekend, but his schedule is a little different than most and sometimes he is lucky enough to be off for Birthday's and Holiday's. So, I took off from work today to spend time with him. I didn't have much planned other than for breakfast I knew I was making him his favorite, sausage gravy and biscuits. But it all came together and it was a great day, we relaxed and went to dinner with my folks at Carrabba's. We love that resturant, and highly recommend that if you go there try the Banana Brulee, it is very tasty. Happy Birthday Hunny!! So glad I could celebrate with you.

He's Two

Our Gunner boy is two years old today. This little guy stole our hearts at first glance. He came into our home in Febuary of 2008. We had been looking for a puppy for a while and Isaac had made several trips to the humane society, so much that a few ladies their practically new him by name, and one woman in paticular remembered what kind of puppy we were looking for. Well Valentines day that Febuary, Isaac made a trip their and when she saw Isaac she said "I have the one you've been looking for, follow me" needless to say he couldn't resist and adopted him right away. Isaac sent me a text of him and sight unseen I new he was perfect.

This was the next day after we adopted him, I went to see him in person for the first time, because we had to leave him there for about a week before we could take him home. Isn't he just so cute!!

And this is my Little guy all grown up. I think it is so funny that in both of these pictures his ears are laid back. When I am working the zoom on my camera it makes a noise and he always does that.

Happy Birthday Gunner!! We love you and hope you are with us for many years to come.

This is Lucky, this little guy fell out of the tree when he was just a few days old. My Grandma bottle fed him for a while and then let him free to go to the wild. Well, it has been a few years since then and he still keeps coming back for his daily dose of peanuts.

This was a raindrop on the leaf of this flower plant. It was fighting the wind to stay in its perfect round form and in the last photo it came together.

And one rose stood alone.
