So much happening!

So much has been happening..this little guy has hit so many milestones over the last week or so that I can hardly keep up. He is eating cereal for breakfast. Rolling over and scooting across the floor and this might mean not a thing to you but I had to take his padded inserts out of his car seat. That means that he was getting to big to have them in there..WAH!
His first cereal adventure went pretty good, maybe we would have got a better reaction out of him had we not made the spoon such a colorful choice. He was to busy looking at the spoon the whole time.
It looks like he got more on his face and bib than in his mouth. Whats that old saying...if your not wearing it you didn't like it.

Here are a few videos of day one and day two of eating cereal.
above is Day one: As you can see in this video he seems to be more ineterested in the spoon.

above is Day two: With a different less colorful spoon in hand we try again and you would think that he is the pro and I am the newbee. I couldn't seem to get it in his mouth fast enough. He felt the need to help me.

And one morning in the time it took me to pour a glass of milk place two pieces of toast in the toaster and get the butter and cinnamon sugar ready.
He went from here.........
To here........
And by the look on his face I think it might have even surprised him. That or he is thinking now how do I get back over there before Mom comes back.

When I asked Mr.Eli what exactly he was up to...well...He thought it was quite funny!

Am I ready for a mobile baby...Well ready or not.

One Year Ago Today

A year can change a whole lot. For good or for bad those changes create the person that you one day become. Sometimes you know that change is coming and sometimes it just simply takes you by surprise. And that is exactly what happened one year ago this very day. I was overwhelmed with the news that I was carrying a precious life inside me. Overwhelmed to say the very least, scared, nervous yet overjoyed all the same. And little did I know, that news would change my whole world. It would forever change the way that I look at life. How to appreciate the little things. How to slow down, because we all know how we let the hustle and bustle from the holiday season slip in to our day to day. I know I'm not the only one. Nine long months went by after that news and a few weeks of wondering if he would ever get here. And I am so glad that he did. Because I know that my life would have never been the same with out having been blessed with such a wonderful gift.

We love you so much Eli!

Valentines Day Review

Yeah...I Know! This is a tad bit late. But I tried I really did. At any rate I spent the day with two of the most amazing men in my life. Ha! I have two men in my life now..imagine that! My first man, my husband man. And my baby man that looks like my Husband man and not sure what I would do without either one of them. Oh yeah and really I guess you could say three men counting the dog man. I think it is safe to say that I am out numbered. And the newest word around here is that they are apart of the HeManWomanHaterClub and the only woman aloud is me because they need a cook. Smile and nod, Mommy just smile and nod.

Our valentines was simple yet sweet. We had breakfast at a local cafe and spent the day together. I made homemade chinese for dinner (which is much better than take out) and we had a relaxing evening.

I wish I could have gotten a picture of the three of us together, but hey, I was doing good to be getting a picture with each of them separately.

Sorry no picture of gunner, Maybe he was having a bad hair day :) Just kidding!

Three Months Old

I suppose even if I skip posting on the 9th. That day will still come and pass and Eli will be another month older. Not a thing that I can do about it. He is growing like a weed and making a month seem so short. He brightens every day and we are just loving him so much. I had a lot of favorites this month and I suppose there is no crime in posting all of them (wink).

Love this with his little hand on his knee.

This is Eli doing his newest funny thing..he puts his chin to his chest and blows spit bubbles and makes all kinds of noises.

This was so hilarious to me, I think he has been noticing his feet but until I snapped this shot he had never grabbed one of them before.

You can see proof that this little man eats well...Just look at those little rolls on the inside of his legs. I could just eat him up he is so cute :)

Eli Shane you are 3 months old!!
You are still sleeping so well for me at night.
I think that you have been working into a nap routine for me. Most days you will go to sleep at about 1:30-2:00 and sleep for about 2 hours. I am so thankful for this because it gives Mommy time to get some things done.
You are still eating every 3 hours sometimes 4.
You have mastered the art of getting your hands in your mouth and you have also started holding your blanket and putting that in your mouth.
You have been so talkative these days and making all sorts of funny noises.
You have rolled over a few times, but only from your belly to your back.
When you are on your belly you really work your legs and are starting to scoot a good distance.
When you are on you back you turn yourself in circles.
And you really caught me an daddy off gaurd because a few weeks ago you started to laugh out loud. And since then you have begun to do it more and more. At first we had to pry it out of you and now you will just laugh at things we are saying.
You don't go back to the doctor until you are 4 months so I had to get your weight and length myself this time around.
 Weight: 14.8lbs
Length: 25.5 in

Change

(definition) Change - to become different, to become altered or modified, to become transformed or converted

No matter the meaning of change, it can be scary. Change is scary but it is also good. Change is healthy, and in some cases it is necessary.

From day one discussion of having kids, Isaac and I always knew that it was in our hearts for me to stay home with whatever children that we would one day have. When I got pregnant that became the topic of many discussions that we had..driving down the road, over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yep, we probably did talk about it that much. We debated, weighed pros and cons, calculated finances. And in the end although we know that we will have to sacrifice some wants and make certain things we have stretch a little. We have prayed long and hard about it and we decided the best thing for Eli and the best thing for our Family would be for me to stay home with our little guy.

It was overwhelming to give my job a notice that I would be leaving. I have been there for five years and became very close with many there. It was hard to think that I would no longer be contributing financially to our family. But I know that I am contributing in the most important way. I am reassured of this every time I look at my little guy. I am so happy and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of his life at every moment, every day. I think that he will certainly benefit from this decision. You don't get this time back and I am glad that I will be here to watch him grow.

That being said... it isn't a piece of cake being home full time. I really didn't know what to expect. But I will be honest when I say that for some reason I thought that my sink would always be empty of dishes and the laundry would always be clean and put away. That my floor would be swept and freshly mopped every day. I knew babies were a lot of work. Trust me I really did know this. But I have come to the conclusion that there was only room for one June Cleaver in this world and I bet you anything that even Barbara Billingsley would have agreed with that. It is all worth it and in the end I know that I will have no regrets.

On with the pictures...

If there is a T.V. on this little boy can't manage to get his eyes off of it. Oh Boy!!

So precious!!

And although they aren't our favorite team but a close second..Eli was happy to be rooting for the Stealers on Super Bowl day.

But wasn't so happy to hear that they had lost.
